Learning about co-existence with animals and nature for a happy planet through stories and play!
About Totem Pals
Totem Pals is an India based conservation education design studio creating story-driven games, books, and learning experiences for children aged 3–14. Everything we make is built around one idea: that children who truly understand and love wildlife will grow up to protect it.
We sit at the intersection of conservation science, early childhood education, and the art of play, designing products and programs that make biodiversity, wildlife, and nature feel personal, exciting, emotional, and worth protecting!
We design and deliver conservation education across four formats:
Board Games and Card Games
co-operative, story-driven games that put children at the heart of real wildlife conservation challenges
Storybooks and Discovery Workbooks
narrative-led books that build knowledge and empathy simultaneously
Facilitator Guides and Education Kits
complete educator resources that make conservation education easy to deliver in any setting
Facilitated Workshops
hands-on, play-based sessions delivered in schools, nature centres, libraries, and conservation sites
Each product we create is rooted in Montessori, Waldorf, Storytelling, and Game Design principles, learning that is experiential, child-led, and emotionally resonant rather than instructional and passive.
We don't make educational products that feel like schoolwork.
Every Totem Pals product starts with a story or a game challenge about a real animal, a real place, and a real conservation problem that needs to be solved- told in a way that makes a child lean in, ask questions, and want to know what happens next. The learning follows naturally from the story, not the other way around.
We call this conservation education through play and stories— and we believe it is one of the most powerful tools available for building the next generation of wildlife champions.
